After the screening, Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic said that this movie is in a way a bridge between the Serbian and Albanian culture on the one hand, and on the other our common message to Europe.
Bradic said that such cooperation contributes to better understanding and establishment of dialogue between neighbouring countries.
It is good that events like this one are attended by European parliamentarians as well, both for Serbia’s negotiations and for what culture is capable of achieving. It is not only a “soft power” as it is often called, but sometimes it works faster and more intensively than politics and the economy, he added.
“Honeymoon” speaks about a young couple from Albania who wish to leave their country because they cannot be together, and another couple from Serbia who leave for Western Europe in hope of a better life.
Goran Paskaljevic wrote the script with Albanian scriptwriter Genc Permeti.
The screening was organised at the invitation of Greek MP Maria Eleni Kope, and apart from the director, also present were Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, Albanian Deputy Minister of Culture Suzana Turku and European Parliament Rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin.
