New Belgrade presented in 3D format on the Internet

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic said today that the project
"3D New Belgrade", which includes a digital model of the most important buildings of New Belgrade on one of the most popular services on the Internet "Google Earth", is an important step in the further development of the city.

Djelic said at the presentation of the project in the municipality of New Belgrade that thanks to this project 700 buildings in New Belgrade will now be available in 3D format on the Internet.
The introduction of this project is a good way to attract a large number of tourists and investors, said the Deputy Prime Minister and pointed out that the future lies in technologies and that the Internet to a large extent transformed the way people communicate around the world.
He stressed that it is important that there are initiatives for similar projects in other municipalities in Serbia and recalled that there is an intention to digitise a large part of Serbian cultural heritage to make it available everywhere in the world.
Djelic said that according to the research of the website "Science Watch" by Thomson Reuters Serbia has been for the third consecutive year rated as a "Rising Star" in the field of science, adding that last year out of 22 areas, our country progressed fastest in 12 areas.
Google Earth has more than 350 million daily visits and offers a special promotion of cultural, technological, commercial, tourist and other resources on the global network.
This model was used for the first time on the occasion of the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.
