Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic said today in the light of Serbia’s presentation at the 54th Venice Biennale that the project “Light and darkness of symbols” by Dragoljub Rasa Todosijevic is a good way to create a dialogue between Serbian art and the world.
He told a news conference at the Ministry of Culture that every Serbian exhibition abroad is important.
Last year, the Biennale of Architecture saw our architectural installations designed by the group Skart. I believe we made the right choice with Rasa Todosijevic, said the Minister of Culture.
Todosijevic said that these are the works in various materials, watercolors, drawings and objects of different concepts.
The central exhibition of the 54th Biennial is titled “ILLUMInazioni – ILLUMInation”.
Rasa Todosijevic belongs to a group of artists who in the late 1960s and in the early 1970s made a shift from the ideology and practice of socialist modernism into the new trends that just emerged on the world stage.
Todosijevic was born in 1945 in Belgrade. He has exhibited in prestigious galleries and museums around the world and is winner of many awards.
The selected items by Rasa Todosijevic will be on display in the Pavilion of Serbia from 4 June to 27 November.
