Dacic said on this occasion that members of the Sector for emergency situations are people for whom we can say that they are heroes of today, who instead of a firearm in their hands have equipment for rescuing people and property.
He underlined that we should remember all members of the fire and rescue units, members of the police who gave their lives and health for the lives of other people in Serbia while saving them from fires, floods, earthquakes and other disasters.
The First Deputy Prime Minister recalled that on 21 January the Ministry of the Interior will mark two centuries of its existence, adding that few countries in the world can pride themselves on such a long tradition.
Markovic commended the work of fire-fighters of Jagodina and added that the city council awarded those who were on guard for New Year’s with a gold coin.
He announced that all fire-fighters of this city, 42 of them, will receive RSD 10,000 from the city budget, and the Fire Department will get two computers.
The ceremony at the Fire Centre in Jagodina was also attended by Deputy Minister of the Interior and Head of the Sector for emergency situations Predrag Maric.
