Injac told a press conference that the agreement on the donation, worth €58,500, was signed today, recalling that since 2001 the Japanese government has assisted Serbia with over €200 million.
A portion of these funds was used to revive domestic production of mineral fertilizers, for rural development and strengthening farmers’ cooperatives, he added.
Injac noted that some of the future Japanese donations will be used to encourage agricultural development in Serbia, notably organic food production and processing.
Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Toshio Tsunozaki said that clean drinking water is an indispensable item, noting that Japan has so far implemented over 123 projects to meet the fundamental needs of Serbian population.
Tsunozaki stressed that the Japanese government provides financial assistance through projects in health care, environmental protection, education and social care.
President of the Krupanj municipality Savo Doric and Director of the public company Put Goran Nenadovic also attended the signing of the agreement on donation.
