Interior Ministry accomplishes all planned tasks for 2010

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said today that the Ministry of the Interior and the police have accomplished all constitutional and legal tasks for 2011.

Dacic, who visited members of the Antiterrorism Unit (PTJ) marking the end of this year in their unit’s base in Lipovica, said that the Interior Ministry has successfully performed other tasks such as activities related to the Law on traffic and the issuance of identity documents.
He recalled that the task of the police is to preserve public peace and order, fight against all forms of terrorism, crime and corruption, as well as to provide personal and property security.
Together with the security services and the Ministry of Justice, we have managed to achieve significant results that significantly raised the reputation of our country in an international environment, he said.
Speaking on the replacement of old driver's licences, Dacic said that the deadline for replacing is 2014, while new registration plates will be replaced once the old ones expire.
Driver’s licences and registration plates will be replaced as of 1 January 2011, he added.
Driver’s and registration licences will cost RSD 1,200 and RSD 800 respectively, while plates will cost RSD 2,000, the Minister said noting that plates will be valid for seven years while the annual registration sticker will cost RSD 400.
The First Deputy Prime Minister wished all police members and the people of Serbia a happy New Year and merry Christmas and wished them good luck and good health.
