Settlement on satellite affair reached with ImageSat International NV

Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Borko Stefanovic announced today that the Serbian government has reached a settlement with Israeli company ImageSat International NV for the lease of one of its satellites.

Stefanovic said that after months of negotiations, it was agreed that Serbia will pay €27.85 million for the illegal agreement signed by the then Defence Minister of Serbia-Montenegro, Prvoslav Davinic.
Also involved in the deals with the Israeli firm was Svetozar Marovic, the then president of Serbia-Montenegro.
Davinic has been accused of unauthorised signing of the €45 million agreement on satellite lease on 4 June 2005, Stefanovic said.
