The bank’s Regional Director Fabio del Grosso delivered the donation to Principal of the Sixth Belgrade Grammar School Aleksandar Hrnjak, Principal of Sreten Lazarevic elementary school Miladin Bozovic and Director of the Ljuba Stankovic pre-school institution Ljubica Lazarevic.
At a press conference Mitrovic expressed gratitude for this donation that will be used for education of teaching staff and purchase of teaching equipment and materials. He commended the wish of Western Union bank to assist educational institutions in Serbia and thus contribute to education of youth in Serbia.
Del Grosso explained that this donation is a continuation of this bank’s humanitarian activities as part of a $50 million programme that was realised in previous years as well, in Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania.
The pre-school institution in Beocin will use the donation for purchase of furniture and technical equipment, while the school in Prilike will buy microscopes, boards and geographical maps. A part of the funds will also be used for advanced training of teachers.
The Sixth Belgrade Grammar School will buy a new computer network and equipment for laboratory research, and teachers will undergo one of the most modern programmes of advanced training.
