Speaking at a panel discussion regarding the cooperation of European Parliament members from Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and MPs from Serbia, taking place at the Serbian Parliament building, Djelic said that on 17 January, he will present a report on Serbia’s progress to the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs.
An expert group, set up by the Serbian government, will start working in Brussels in January, with the aim of helping Serbia to acquire EU candidate status by the end of 2011, he added.
Djelic stressed that by mid-January, the remaining questions from the European Commission questionnaire will be answered, announcing that together with Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic he will deliver the replies to the questionnaire to EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule on 31 January in Brussels.
