Answers to European Commission’s Questionnaire to be handed over on 31 January in Brussels

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic said yesterday that he and Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic will on 31 January in Brussels present European officials with the answers to the Questionnaire of the European Commission on Serbia's candidacy for EU membership.

Djelic said at a ceremony marking the anniversary of the abolition of visas for Serbian citizens traveling to the EU that compared to December last year Airport Nikola Tesla in Belgrade recorded an increase in the number of trips to the world and the Schengen area by approximately 30%.
He said that Serbia has received significant financial support from the European Commission for travelling to the EU, and announced that larger groups of people will be able to count on travels through Europe in the future.
Head of EU Delegation in Serbia Vincent Degert wished Serbia to achieve candidate for EU membership next year.
German Ambassador to Serbia Wolfram Maas said he believes that the Serbian government will continue with European integration, at the same time making economic progress.
The ceremony at the City Hall gathered 50 participants of the "Europe for All" project. Following a decision of the Council of Ministers of the EU to abolish visa regime for Serbia, which came into force on 19 December last year, they travelled to the countries of the Union.
The project was later explanded to children without parental care, who travelled to Vienna, and the best graduates from the 20 poorest municipalities in Serbia, who went to Thessaloniki.
