Serbia, Algeria sign programme on cooperation in culture

Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic and Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci signed today the Programme on cooperation in the field of culture for the period 2011-2013.
A statement by the Ministry of Culture reads that in order to improve cooperation in the field of culture and artistic exchange between Serbia and Algeria, direct contacts and ties between artistic and cultural workers of the two countries will be strengthened, and also between the proper institutions.
Bradic noted that culture always comes first and builds bridges that did not exist, but at the same time strengthens ties built in the past.
Serbia and Algeria will work on improving cooperation in museology, archaeology, restoration and preservation of cultural heritage, as well as on establishing contacts between specialised institutions, museums and national libraries.
Development of cooperation in the field of theatre arts, opera ballet and music is also envisaged.
