Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic and Italian President Giorgio Napolitano opened today at the presidential palace Quirinale in Rome the exhibition of the National Museum in Belgrade called "Italy and conservation of the majestic crater”.
Napolitano said that this exhibition demonstrates the closeness between the Italian and Serbian people, as well as their belonging to the common Mediterranean area.
Bradic pointed out that cultural cooperation between the two countries has a long and successful tradition, especially in the field of protection of monuments.
The crater from Trebeniste is kept in the collection of the National Museum of Belgrade. Its conservation and restoration was carried out by Italian experts and this is only the latest among numerous examples of Italy’s support and assistance, said Bradic.
He said that the result of this undertaking is the exhibition in Quirinale palace which presents the cultural heritage of Serbia and the Balkans to the Italian audience.
The exhibition "Italy and conservation of the majestic crater” will present the most important achievements from the end of the 6th and early 5th century BC in the central Balkans.
