Fourth Science Festival opened

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic and French Ambassador for Science, Technology and Innovation Catherine Brechignac opened the Fourth Science Festival today, which will be attended by 250 young scientists and 20 scientific institutions.

Djelic said at the opening of this event in the former Kluz department store that investing in science and in young talented scientists is profitable for the entire nation.
He recalled that a new cycle of funding of projects in the field of science and technology in Serbia worth €400 million will start on 1 January, in which the entire equipment needed for the scientific community will be provided for the first time.
The Deputy Prime Minister announced that the winner of the competition for the architectural solution for the Centre for Promotion of Science in Belgrade will be known on 17 December.
Brechignac declared that science is important for every country and that scientists have to work hard in order to achieve scientific development.
The Fourth Science Festival will last until 5 December under the slogan “Eye to Eye with Science'' and will be held in three different locations – in the building of the former Kluz department stores chain, the Student Cultural Centre (SKC) and the gallery of the National Bank of Serbia.
Kluz will host interactive exhibitions, SKC lectures, workshops for children and a mini film festival, while in the National Bank of Serbia a special programme called SUTRA will be held, in which art works on the links between science, technology and art will be presented.
The festival is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, and the sponsor is Telekom Srbija. The ticket price is RSD 300 and is valid for all three locations.
