Djelic announced that they discussed possibilities for drafting a memorandum of understanding regarding joint projects in public finance, education, science and technology.
He voiced his hope that HP will take part in upcoming tenders, to be announced by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, which will focus on the procurement of equipment for the Serbian IT community, including the supercomputer project, to be launched in 2011.
It is in Serbia’s interest to develop the IT sector, which can be achieved through a partnership with the world’s largest companies in this remit, Djelic underlined.
The Deputy Prime Minister remarked that he acquainted HP representatives with the projected investment in scientific and technological infrastructure in Serbia, which implies the construction of a scientific-technological park in Zvezdara, Belgrade, in addition to other investment in the IT sector.
General Director of the HP Group for Personal Systems and Central and Southeast Europe Ahim Cutler stressed that HP has vast experience in public sector education, which it will gladly share with experts in Serbia, contributing to the development of its IT sector.
