Speaking at a press conference following the signing, Jeremic remarked that according to this Memorandum, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will allow the Olympic Committee of Serbia to use the premises of the Serbian embassy in London for the duration of the Olympic Games in 2012.
During the Olympic Games in 2012, the Serbian embassy will be an “Open Serbian House” where various events will be held to promote Serbia, Jeremic explained.
He underlined that the Olympic Games and the World Exposition in Shanghai are excellent opportunities to promote Serbia, adding that athletes have always been the finest promoters of our country.
Divac agreed that the Olympic Games are a unique opportunity to promote Serbian culture, economy and sport, adding that this is the largest sports competition with 209 participating states and around 10,000 athletes, broadcast by 230 television stations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the first to appreciate the ideas of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, and we hope to establish cooperation with the Tourist Organisation of Serbia, the Chamber of Commerce and other institutions and companies, Divac stressed.
