False asylum-seekers will not harm visa liberalisation for Serbian citizens

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said today during talks with Bavarian Minister of the Interior Joachim Hermann that Serbia has very good cooperation with the law enforcement structures of Germany.

Dacic, who today wraps up his two-day visit to Munich, highlighted that this especially refers to the provinces of Baden Wurttemberg and Bavaria.
There are approximately 100,000 people with Serbian citizenship living in Bavaria, the Minister outlined and expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Bavarian police do not have any bigger problems with the Serbian nationals.
The Minister stressed that cooperation in the exchange of officers of traffic, criminal and border police that is being carried out through the Hanns Seidel Foundation is very important for Serbia.
Dacic told his Bavarian counterpart that he discussed this issue with the Swedish and Belgium interior ministers, since the number of false asylum-seekers in these countries has also increased.
He underlined that none of his counterparts believes that visa liberalisation for Serbia is threatened because of this problem, reiterating the importance of reducing the number of false asylum-seekers, who are mostly Roma and Albanians.
They will be repatriated under emergency procedure, in line with the readmission agreement, but will not be given money for their return tickets, Dacic warned.
The Serbian police launched an investigation into the persons who organised the transfer of false asylum-seekers to EU countries and controls at border crossings with Hungary will be stricter, he announced.
