Serbian companies make business deals worth €385m at fairs abroad

Director of the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) Bozidar Laganin said today that SIEPA has organised 12 fairs abroad this year at which Serbian companies struck business deals worth €385 million.

Laganin told the press conference that 10 commercial and two investment fairs abroad organised this year were attended by 138 exhibitors from Serbia and announced that in 2011 SIEPA will organise 18 fairs abroad - 16 commercial and two investment fairs.

He also announced that SIEPA is for the 7th time organising the award ceremony for exporter of the year, which will be held on 7 December at the gala conference room of Belgrade City Assembly.

He explained that the prize will be awarded in five categories - the best exporter, the best new export product, the winning of new markets, the best exporter in the category of small and medium-sized enterprises and for the first time this year there will be a prize for the best exporter in the category of social entrepreneurship.

SIEPA Director pointed out that the deadline for submission of applications for the contest is 1 December and the criteria for selection of the best companies will be solvency, liquidity and profitability, the value of exports in 2010, balances of payments in the last three years, the number of new jobs, quality of products, the number of markets the company exports to and the number of new markets in 2010.

Director of the Sector for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) of the Eurobank EFG Velimir Babic announced that this bank will reward the best exporter in the category of SMEs with €15,000. Director of DHL International Belgrade Darko Babic declared that DHL will reward the best company in the category of winning new markets with €10,000 of its products. Director of company Orange Studio Nebojsa Babic confirmed that his company will develop a marketing campaign worth €10,000 for the winner of the exporter of the year award in the category of best export product.
