Organised criminal group misappropriating fuel arrested

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said today that in the police action "Pistol" police have so far arrested 22 members of an organised criminal group that was misappropriating fuel from NIS fuel pumps, thereby defrauding citizens by more than €2 million.
Dacic told Tanjug news agency that the aforementioned group over the last few years masterminded the fraud at NIS petrol stations, 15 of which have now been blocked.
He explained that the responsible officials of the Directorate of control of measures and precious materials and the Department for maintenance of NIS petrol stations allowed the illegal checks of pump machines.
They adjusted the machines so as not to show the right amount of fuel, declared the First Deputy Prime Minister and added that the aforementioned action continues.
