Counter-terrorist unit well trained

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic handed over certificates to 11 trainees of parachute training of the counter-terrorist unit of the Serbian Interior Ministry.

Dacic said in Lipovica that the unit’s members showed a high level of psycho-physical readiness for the most demanding tasks.
With a high level of professionalism, this unit guarantees successful execution of all constitutional and legal obligations in preserving the safety of Serbia and its citizens, highlighted the Minister.
The training was done on state-of-the-art equipment that the Ministry procured last year, he specified.
Since 2003, 54 members of this unit have completed parachute training and have had a total of 4,441 jumps, Dacic noted.
The unit’s members also achieve top sporting results, the Minister added.
Dacic observed that 4,000 facilities have been reported damaged in the earthquake and that it has been ascertained that 310 houses and flats are no longer habitable. Experts have so far inspected 1,130 damaged facilities, of which 10% are public buildings and the rest private houses and flats, he reported.
Experts from the CIP Transportation Institute are in the field, inspecting the damaged facilities, Dacic outlined, adding that after the earthquake the police did not register an increased number of criminal activities in Kraljevo.
There are 17 tanks with drinking water in the municipality which citizens can use, Dacic recalled, adding that the next stage is the renovation of damaged facilities.
He announced that all employees in his Ministry will set aside one day’s wages to help reconstruct the houses of police officers in Kraljevo.
