Opening this event at the Belgrade In hotel, Bradic said that news agencies are no longer relying on state help only, but they are slowly becoming more competitive in using their potential.
Nowadays news agencies have the opportunity to respond to challenges in a quicker and more flexible way, Bradic noted and voiced his belief that the assembly of this association will encourage the development and networking of agencies in the region of southeast Europe.
The Minister pointed out that the holding of the ABNA-SE assembly is very important in this period of constant change in the media and added that the use of new technology brings new challenges.
This year’s assembly is organised by Tanjug news agency and directors and editors-in-chief of 11 news agencies from the region are attending.
Representatives of agencies who are members of ABNA-SE are participating in the event - Agerpres (Romania), ANA-MPA (Greece), Anadolu (Turkey), BTA (Bulgaria) CNA (Cyprus), MIA (Macedonia) and SRNA (Republika Srpska).
ABNA-SE was founded at the initiative of Greek news agency MPA at a conference in Thessaloniki on 26 June 1995 with the aim of establishing an atmosphere of trust, exchange of experience, and improvement of cooperation and peace in the region.
