Support to companies for introducing new technology, creating jobs

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic visited Koteks Viscofan, a producer of collagen casings, and signed an agreement worth €13.7 million on non-repayable funds in Novi Sad today.
Dinkic said he is very pleased that the government is helping another investor to expand its production capacity and create 165 new jobs in Novi Sad.
It is our goal to endorse export-oriented companies which introduce new technology and strive to create more jobs, and with the new 165 workers, Koteks Viscofan will have a total of 465 employees, Dinkic observed.
It is very important for Serbia that a leading world producer of collagen casings for the meat industry decided to invest here, Dinkic remarked.
The new production area spans 9,000 square metres and will be completed by March 2011.
The investment also implies the procurement of new equipment and 90% of the output is intended for export.
Koteks Viscofan has been in the ownership of Spain’s Viscofan SA since 2005. This Spanish company has so far invested around €30 million in Koteks and has secured a certificate for exporting to the EU.
The entire future investment in the company will be financed by the Spanish company.
