After a meeting with Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs Thomas Countryman, Dacic pointed to the positive effects of the recent visit of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
He highlighted that Serbia has good cooperation with all the security structures in the United States and gave the example of the extraordinary results that the two countries have had in the joint fight against drug trafficking.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the United States for its great assistance to reforms in Serbia, implementation of laws and strengthening of institutions that carry out the reforms.
He underlined that Serbia wants not to be seen in the eyes of the world as a problem, but as a factor that helps resolve problems in the region.
Countryman confirmed that Serbia and the United States will remain partners in all initiatives for improving the rule of law in the entire territory of the Western Balkans.
He referred to the words of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who during the recent visit to Serbia and the region affirmed that the United States will cooperate with all Balkan states in the field of rule of law because this is one of the most important conditions for the region’s EU integration.
Countryman highlighted the importance of the fight against corruption and the mafia in the Western Balkans.
