Representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia delivered technical and computer equipment worth RSD 2 million to the Media Office of the Ministry of Interior today.
Dacic and Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Ambassador Dimitrios Kypreos expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the police and the OSCE and announced its successful continuation.
There is no stable state without a successful policeforce, stressed Dacic, adding that the police cannot be successful without the confidence of citizens and therefore it is essential that police activities are adequately represented in public.
Dacic added that in future the police will present their work more transparently to the general public.
Kypreos declared he was proud that the partnership between the OSCE and the Serbian Interior Ministry has lasted for years.
He announced further joint work on police reform, particularly as regards the publicity of its work which is crucial for the confidence of citizens and the police.
He praised the police for their courage and professionalism shown during the Pride Parade in Belgrade.
Head of the Ministry’s office for cooperation with the media Suzana Vasiljevic confirmed that during this year more than 23,000 news items about the Ministry have been published, of which more than 14,000 are related to the work of the police, while 9,000 relate to Minister Dacic’s activities.
Equipment, among other things, as well as computers for 15 police departments in Serbia, was purchased with financial support from the Swedish International Development Agency, in order to improve the conditions of the Bureau of Media Relations Serbian Interior Ministry and police officials in charge of public relations in police administration.
