Director of the EU Integration Office Milica Delevic said that this programme is aimed at strengthening the administrative capacity of state institutions in the process of the country’s European integration, but also at improving the understanding of how the EU administration works.
She outlined that 180 participants will attend specialised courses at the European Institute of Public Administration in Maastricht and at the College of Europe in Bruges, while 30 participants will undergo internship in EU institutions and member states.
Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Adriano Martins highlighted that this programme is an opportunity to promote democracy, human rights, tolerance and freedom of expression.
Director of British Council Serbia Andrew Glass explained that the training programme covers areas such as finance, protection of competition, environment, agriculture and food safety, regional development, judiciary and internal affairs.
Glass invited civil servants, employees in public services and local self-governments to apply for this project by 22 October.
The total value of this project that started in February is €2.5 million and the funds were secured from the EU’s Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance for 2008.
