Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic announced today that all extremist groups in Serbia will be banned and the state will take uncompromising measures against them.
Speaking at a media economic forum "Towards the European Union: Italy and Serbia, A Strategic Partnership", and commenting on the riots at the Pride Parade in Belgrade and at last night’s football game in Genoa, Djelic underscored that the state must act resolutely, but noted that the Football Association of Serbia must also undertake certain measures towards fan groups.
Serbia is not the only country faced with a hooligan issue, Djelic noted, adding that riots at the Pride Parade and at the Genoa game were an unsuccessful attempt by anti-European forces to prevent Serbia’s EU path.
