Dacic pointed out that the new facility, which is being built in cooperation with the municipality, local businesses and the Ministry of the Interior, will contribute to creating better conditions for the actions of fire rescue units.
He said that the current fire rescue unit building in Lazarevac does not meet the minimum requirements for employees’ accommodation, also the vehicles are parked outside so in winter when temperature drops below zero, the water gets frozen inside them.
The number of interventions in Lazarevac has increased in recent years and it is between 260 and 320 per year. There are also two heavy industry complexes in the territory that is covered by this unit– the Kolubara mining basin and the Kolubara thermoelectrical power plant.
