Incentives for 250 new jobs in Ruma

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic signed an agreement today on the allocation of incentives worth €150,000 with the company Frigo Zika Soko in Ruma, which will create 50 new jobs.

Dinkic expressed his satisfaction with the fact that this company has grown from a craftsmen shop to a middle-sized company, that it has managed to overcome all problems and reach production which is almost €8 million at an annual level, 65% of which is being exported.

He said that with the help of the Ministry of Economy this company is starting the building of a new production facility of 2,000 square metres and is modernising production through the purchase of state-of-the-art machines. The total value of the investment project is €1.25 million, Dinkic highlighted.

According to data from the National Employment Service, there are some 5,000 unemployed people in Ruma, Dinkic outlined and added that the example of Frigo Zika Soko should be followed by other companies which should also apply for non-refundable aid.

Dinkic also signed an agreement in the company Rumaguma, where 200 workers will be trained and employed due to a programme of active employment measures, provided by the National Employment Service.

He specified that this service set aside RSD 7.7 million for a six-month training programme for the first 60 unemployed in Rumaguma, and this training programme will take place in Ruma and in a factory in Czech Republic.

In 2010, RSD 300 million was set aside for active employment measures, which enabled the training, re-training and additional training of 4,000 persons.

He pointed out that this factory is the foremost exporter from Srem which sells 85% of its production to foreign markets.

Rumaguma is operating as part of Czech company Mitas and specialises in the production of tyres and building machines. It currently employs 500 workers and will hire an additional 200 workers next year with the expansion of production capacities.
