Building broad international cooperation in field of security

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic has lead a Serbian delegation on a two-day international conference of high security officials in Sochi which has ended today.
A statement by the Ministry of the Interior reads that during the conference Dacic had a series of bilateral meetings with officials from Russia, the United States, China, the South African Republic, Uruguay and others.
Salutation messages from Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon were read at this conference which represents the first important step in creating broad international cooperation in the sphere of international security.
The conference looked at joint activities concerning the fight against transnational crime and its most serious forms – terrorism, narcotics smuggling, illegal migration and illegal trafficking in weapons and radioactive substances. It also discussed activities in case of natural and technogenic disasters.
Another issue examined was international information security in the conditions of forming a global information society, reads the statement and adds that participants in the conference visited facilities under construction in Sochi that will be used during the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
