Following a meeting with Slovenian Minister for Development and European Affairs Mitja Gaspari, Djelic recalled that at the previous Council of Ministers’ session, Slovenia backed this proposal, for which Serbia is very grateful.
He declared that the Slovenian and Italian foreign ministers sent a letter to the Belgian foreign minister asking for the process of Serbia’s EU integration to be accelerated, as well as that of the entire Western Balkans.
Gaspari underlined that Serbia’s EU accession is in Slovenia’s vital interest, adding that the political situation in the Balkans will be thus stabilised, which is in the interest of the EU.
The Deputy Prime Minister also met with Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Jankovic.
