Miroljub Labus
In an interview for RTS state television, Labus denied the claims of FPP Balkan Limited that he supported Apurna, the joint venture of French Danone and basketball star Vlade Divac.
According to him, everything has been completed in accordance with the law. He noted that Knjaz Milos shares were sold at 17,500 dinars per share, which is good in comparison with the starting price of 3,000 dinars.
He stressed that the state now has a safe investor and exporter, while the workers got safe employment.
The sale of Knjaz Milos is good news for foreign investors and the state now has a strategic partner that will be able to boost production and exports, Labus said. This is the first privatisation of the kind and the government has recognised many errors in the legislation on privatisation and securities.
Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic also expressed his satisfaction with the new owner of Knjaz Milos, Apurna.
Dinkic told RTS that Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo assured other government members that Apurna’s offer was the best one as it includes investment and a social programme, while FPP Limited only wanted to acquire a limited parcel of shares.
He added that small shareholders were the ones to decide.
