First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said that the aim of the Centre for specialised training for technical traffic interventions in Ruma that opened today is to train fire and rescue squads to react according to European standards.

Speaking at the opening of the centre, Dacic said that owing to state-of-the-art equipment and adoption of European procedures of training and acting, Serbian citizens, tourists and passengers on the Serbian roads will be able to count on quick and appropriate response in case of accident.
The aim of setting up this regional centre for training units for emergency response in traffic accidents is the improvement of skills of fire and rescue squads in saving those injured, Dacic explained.
He underlined that improvement of specialised training of firefighting and rescue teams is one of crucial measures in the reorganisation of the Sector for emergency situations and in the efforts that the Ministry of the Interior is taking in order to establish an integrated system of protection and rescue in emergency situations.
