Hungary to support Serbia on its EU road

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen agreed today that Serbia has made significant progress in the field of European integration.

Dacic presented Semjen with the reforms made in the field of interior affairs and stressed Serbia’s readiness to continue cooperation with EU institutions.
He said that cooperation of the Serbian police with the relevant ministries of Hungary is very good and expressed his hope he would meet with Hungarian Interior Minister Sandor Pinter soon.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that as part of continuation of good cooperation, it is expected that the first police liaison officer for Hungary will be appointed.
Semjen said that Hungary will preside over the EU and offered help to Serbia on its path towards the EU.
The Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Dacic for Serbian police having solved the tasks set by the Union.
One of the topics of the meeting was the question of national minorities, Dacic said noting that the number of attacks on members of the Hungarian national minority has been reduced by 27%.
There are more and more Hungarians willing to undergo basic police training in Sremska Kamenica, he stated.
Dacic announced that together with Chair of the Vojvodina Assembly Sandor Egeresi, he will visit Temerin, Jastrebarsko and Uzdine.
