EU foreign ministers to debate Serbia’s EU integration

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic voiced his expectation that Serbia’s EU integration process will be a topic at today’s meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.
Appearing on the morning news on Radio Television Serbia, Djelic declared that at this week’s meeting of the Council of the European Union, Serbia’s progress will be noted.
He said it is important that Germany and France have officially backed the forwarding of Serbia’s application to the European Commission.
However, I believe it is more realistic to expect that the decision on forwarding our application will be made later in October, but in any case it will come about before the end of the year, Djelic added.
The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that the current obstacle is The Netherland’s caretaker government, which stated that it does not have the capacity to decide on an issue such as this one.
