Public competitions for directors of scientific, research institutions

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic talked today with board presidents from scientific and research institutions about the conditions for announcing public competitions for directors of these institutions.

Djelic announced that in the upcoming period public competitions will be announced for directors of 40 scientific and research institutions in Serbia, noting that these positions require leaders in science and the most ambitious, most competent and most talented candidates.
These qualities are important if we want our country to make progress towards an economy of knowledge, the Deputy Prime Minister explained, adding that there will be no favouritism and that the candidates will be elected solely according to their merits.
Djelic outlined that according to the procedure, once the procedure is finished, executive boards will propose candidates to him, and he will make the final decision afterwards.
All information pertaining to the conditions of the competition, deadlines and candidate lists may be viewed on the Ministry’s website www.nauka.gov.rs, Djelic concluded.
