Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic and Director of the National Museum in Zajecar Bora Dimitrijevic announced today that the European Heritage Days in Eastern Serbia will be held from 8 to 23 September.
Bradic told a press conference at the Ministry that the main celebration will take place on 12 September in Negotin and Zajecar, adding that special emphasis will be placed on the presentation of material and immaterial heritage of Eastern Serbia.
The Minister recalled that this cultural event has been organised every September in all Council of Europe members since 1991.
He explained that the European Heritage Days have become an indispensable link in the complex process of bringing European cultural heritage closer to citizens in order to enable them to get to know each other, despite the differences in language and culture.
The celebration will begin on 8 September with a performance at the Zoran Radmilovic Theatre in Zajecar.
