Speaking at the promotion ceremony for the 3rd class of trainees, Dacic stressed that during their one year of training, trainees gained knowledge about all basic forms of police work.
The number of uniformed police officers in Serbia is insufficient and this problem is particularly visible in big cities, pointed out the Minister, adding that the possibility of advancing police education is under consideration, bearing in mind the fact that Belgrade alone needs 2,000 more uniformed officers.
The smallest percentage of applicants for police training courses comes from big cities. This trend is connected to problems related with salaries and housing in the profession, he concluded.
