Adoption of law on fiscal responsibility among government priorities

Deputy Prime Minister Jovan Krkobabic talked with a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) headed by Head of Mission to Serbia Albert Jaeger.

Krkobabic said during the meeting that the priorities of the government in the future include consistent implementation of the agreement from the previous audit, completion of the reform of the pension and disability insurance system, as well as the adoption of legislation on fiscal responsibility.
The Deputy Prime Minister supported the adoption of the document, adding that after it is adopted it should be consistently applied, which will guarantee regular payment of pensions and their stability.
At the meeting it was pointed out that it is necessary to create conditions for the payment of bonuses to pensioners, which is in accordance with a previous agreement with the IMF.
Jaeger pointed out that it is now necessary to lead a good and responsible fiscal policy, adding that the IMF supports government efforts in the implementation of agreed projects.
