Dacic and Egeresi expressed their satisfaction over the significant reduction in the interethnic incident rate in Vojvodina.
On the basis of the Report on the safety situation in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina between January and June 2010, the rate of all forms of incidents based on ethnic intolerance has dropped by 25% in relation to the previous year, the First Deputy Prime Minister said.
Egeresi noted that this positive trend is largely the result of the efficient cooperation and joint campaigns of the Vojvodina parliament and the Serbian Ministry of the Interior that have been carried out so far.
Dacic stated that the police encourage people from all national communities to apply for training and jobs in the Ministry of the Interior, and announced that successful programmes of teaching community languages for policemen who work in mixed communities will be continued.
With the aim of further promotion of the importance of tolerance, safety and inclusion of members of national communities into the work of the police, the officials will continue to make joint tours of municipalities and communities in Vojvodina with a high percentage of mixed population.
Dacic and Egeresi agreed to visit thee mixed communities in Vojvodina by the end of the year.
