Building gendarmerie base on Mt. Golija

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said today that from a security aspect Mt. Golija is of strategic importance for Serbia and announced the construction of a Gendarmerie base on this mountain.

Dacic opened the Sastavci-Gledjica road section and emphasised that Golija is very important, which is why this base will be built there to provide a stable security situation.
He also pointed out to the obligation of the state to cooperate with local governments and public enterprises, to improve life in villages.
Dacic highlighted that in talks with the mayor of Ivanjica, Radomir Ristic, it was agreed to help in the construction of several more roads, which will also be of tourist importance for Ivanjica.
The Deputy Prime Minister had previously opened a section of the Ivanjica-Studenica road 15 kilometres in length.
He reiterated that this region of Serbia is strategically important for the country, not just in terms of natural resources, which is why we need to open new economic prospects and continue to invest in infrastructure and tourism.
The opening of Ivanjica-Studenica road was also attended by Police Director Milorad Veljovic.
