Government to aid Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in wake of storm

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic announced today that the government will intervene with the relevant insurance company to make sure that the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops manages to clear up the damage caused by yesterday’s stormy weather as soon as possible.
Visiting the Institute’s Distribution Centre near Novi Sad, which suffered severe battering by strong gales the day before, Djelic specified that the damage has been estimated at around €700,000.
The Ministry of Science and Technological Development will send RSD 1 million to aid the Institute, he announced adding that at one of the upcoming sessions, the government will contemplate additional forms of support, if necessary.
He explained that the Institute has demonstrated what must be done in Serbia, namely that Serbia should not export raw materials, but knowledge, and not only in the field of agriculture, but in all sectors.
All institutions striving to export our knowledge will always have speedy and firm support from the government, Djelic concluded.
