Bradic to visit Balanica site in Sicevo

Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic will visit the Balanica Palaeolithic site in Sicevo near the city of Nis on 12 August.
Between 2006 and 2009, the remnants of hominids (pre-Neanderthals) were found on this site and their age ranges from 150 thousand to 200 thousand years, which makes this a discovery of international importance.
A great number of experts and students from the country and abroad, such as Winnipeg, Hamilton, Oxford and Harvard, have taken part in this year’s excavations that will end on 13 August, reads a statement by the Ministry of Culture.
