Government sponsors 50th Guca Brass Band Festival

President of the municipality of Lucani Slobodan Jolovic stated today that the Serbian government is sponsoring the 50th Dragacevo Brass Band Festival in Guca, adding that on 13 August Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic will officially open the festival.
Jolovic told Tanjug news agency that the government has helped to organise this year’s festival with RSD 10 million, adding that preparation for the festival, which will be held from 13 to 22 August, is almost complete and over a million visitors from abroad are expected.
On the first day of this year’s festival a monument to Desimir Perisic, the winner of the first brass band festival, held in 1960, will be unveiled.
