For this occasion, Obradovic said that Milankovic is known to the general public first of all as a great Serbian and world scientist who studied climate change, but it is little known that he was also a great civil engineer and the first Serbian PhD in civil engineering.
The Minister of Education invited citizens to visit this exhibition, which consists of more than 300 items.
Mrkonjic highlighted that in civil engineering, Milankovic was known as an excellent structural engineer, successful inventor and author of many scientific works and dissertations.
Milankovic is considered to be the creator of the Belgrade sewage system because he led the project for the wastewater collector for the Sava river. He built a series of railway bridges on the Nis-Knjazevac railway line and made a design for the construction of the Mint in Topcider, as well as for many facilities used by Combat Aviation, the Minister of Infrastructure added.
The exhibition has been organised by the Milutin Milankovic Association and the National Bank of Serbia, under the auspices of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers, the Serbian Engineers and Technicians Association and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
