Serbia, Uruguay harmonise text of memorandum of police cooperation

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and Uruguayan Minister of the Interior Eduardo Bonomi synchronised the text of a memorandum of police cooperation at a meeting today.

Dacic, who concluded a six-day visit to Latin America with the meeting with Bonomi in Montevideo, stressed that there is a great need for cooperation between the Serbian police and police forces in Latin America.
On the basis of information provided by Serbian intelligence services and the US Drug Enforcement Agency, and in cooperation with their colleagues from Uruguay, major evidence was procured proving that Saric's groups were distributing cocaine from Latin America in Europe, Dacic recalled.
This operation highlights the necessity of good cooperation between agencies and police forces, Dacic outlined.
Because of increased interest of local press representatives, Dacic and Bonomi answered their questions for over an hour following the meeting.
The working visit to Latin America resulted from a joint need for operational cooperation, Dacic explained, voicing his hope that in the days ahead agreements will be reached which will help to uncover criminal acts committed in Latin America by criminal groups from Serbia and the Balkans.
