Serbia, Argentina to improve police cooperation

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and Argentine Minister of Justice, Security and Human Rights Julio Alak signed a memorandum of understanding today. The memorandum will help improve police cooperation between the two countries for combating organised crime and drug trafficking.

According to an Interior Ministry statement, Dacic is in Buenos Aires as part of a six day visit to Latin American countries.
After signing the agreement, Alak said that Serbia is one of the few European countries with which Argentina has signed this kind of memorandum. He added that thanks to the information obtained from the Serbian police, several people were arrested and a large amount of drugs were seized in Argentina.
On the last day of his tour of Latin America, Dacic will travel to Uruguay to meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs Luis Almagro, Minister of the Interior Eduardo Bonomi and the country’s Vice President Danilo Astori.
