Speaking at a press conference held to announce the final results of the elections, Torde said that there is no need to repeat elections at any polling station.
Out of a total of 436,334 voters, 237,792 voted. The biggest turn out was seen among the Greek national minority, with 77.05% and the lowest among the Ashkali minority, 38.85%, she specified.
Four parties did not win any seat, noted Torde.
Electoral assemblies were held for the Croatian and Slovenian national minorities but this was not possible in the case of the Macedonian minority because of a lack of quorum, she explained.
Voting took place according to standards for a free and fair election at 833 polling stations in 161 municipalities, Torde confirmed.
Minister of Human and Minority Rights Svetozar Ciplic emphasised that national minority councils have a huge responsibility along with authority, as they are the elected representatives of their communities.
Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Dimitrios Kypreos stressed that elections were free from irregularities and that the fact that they were held is hugely significant because it reflects Serbia’s commitment to improve the position of its national minorities.
