Commenting on the statement of British Ambassador to Serbia Stephen Wordsworth that Kosovo and Serbia’s EU integration are no longer two separate issues, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic said that Serbia will not accept its EU integration process to be conditioned by its recognition of an independent Kosovo-Metohija.
Djelic pointed out in a statement to daily Vecernje Novosti that Serbia will never recognise the illegally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, directly or indirectly.
As for the EU membership questionnaire, Djelic confirmed that Serbia will answer all the questions, including those regarding its territory and population, in line with the Serbian Constitution and UN Security Council Resolution 1244, where applicable.
Serbia accepts this resolution because it is line with its policy on Kosovo-Metohija, Djelic underlined.
