Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic stated in Bratislava today that Serbia is the most economically stable of all EU candidate countries and that this gives Serbia a certain advantage.

In a statement to Slovakia’s TA3 TV channel, Jeremic said that the whole of Europe has felt the repercussions of the Greek crisis, adding that the Serbian government took timely action and reached an agreement with the IMF which made it possible for it to preserve its macroeconomic stability.
A positive message was sent out from the
EU – Western Balkans Summit in Sarajevo. The message is that the Balkan region is ready to continue its European integration process, that countries of the region are cooperating and overcoming differences and problems, and that the EU is committed to further enlargement in the region, emphasised Jeremic.
Speaking about fresh political developments following Greece’s debt crisis, which do not affect recent EU enlargement, the Minister reiterated that Serbia is continuing its EU integration process, adding that he is convinced that it will have partners on the European side supporting these efforts.
