Serbia, Egypt sign agreements on cooperation in several sectors

Deputy Prime Minister Jovan Krkobabic and Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Fayza Abul-Naga signed agreements on economic, technical, scientific and tourism cooperation today in Belgrade.

Following the signing, which was part of the meeting of the Mixed Serbian-Egyptian Committee for Economic Cooperation, Krkobabic said that this is an important step towards improving the friendly economic relations between the two countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that Abul-Naga also signed a Memorandum of Understanding in veterinary cooperation with Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Sasa Dragin.

Krkobabic also noted that the Egyptian Minister and Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Skundric signed a Memorandum regarding cooperation in mineral resources.

Abul-Naga emphasised that these documents demonstrate which activities Egypt gives priority to in cooperation with Serbia.

She also added that the agreements are a basis for concrete steps which will soon be taken, announcing that Minister Dragin will visit Egypt soon and Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic will visit her country by the end of the year.

The Minister underscored that the two countries should make use of the complementary advantages of their economies, noting that Egyptian businessmen are very eager to invest in Serbia.
