Serbia to get “black spot” register in July

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic stated in Trgoviste today that Serbia does not have a register of “black spots” to help it permanently prevent certain natural disasters and halt and control others.
Following a visit to the flooded area in Trgoviste, Dacic announced that after 1 July, when all kinds of emergencies are transferred to the Ministry of the Interior’s jurisdiction, a register of “black spots” will be compiled to improve the response to crisis and emergency situations.
He said that the situation in Trgoviste, caused by floods, is a result of neglect and irresponsible behaviour, stressing that in future, the Ministry will demand that all those whose task it is to prevent floods should behave professionally and responsibly.
Dacic laid a foundation stone for a new bridge over the Kozjedolska River, where nine days ago the swollen river caused the old one to collapse.
Dacic also visited the Police Administration and the Fire Brigade in Trgoviste and visited the right bank of the Pcinja River and the landslide on the Tripusnica River.
